We had a great time at Jessica and James' wedding in Asheville, NC. Margaret Anne was amazing, she did so well in the car and at the rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception. She was an angel and Hays was such a good dad! He was very helpful and I was able to have some quality time with my friends that I don't get to see very often. We got in a little family time as well. Hays and I LOVED our little cabin and we can't wait to go back up there and stay again!

About 5 minutes ago, MA discovered that she can talk jibberish and respond to our questions/comments! I tried to capture this on film, but she got a little camera shy. Still some good stuff though!

Road Warriors...Hopefully

Meredith and I are off to Jessica Hughes's wedding in Asheville, NC this weekend. It is at the Biltmore, and everybody who has been there has raved about it, so we are pumped! I had booked us a room at the Springhill Suites in Asheville (which was grossly overpriced, might I add), but we found out that one of Jessica's dad's friends wouldn't be able to attend, so we are staying in a cabin that is already paid for for 2 nights!!! This made us decide to go up a night early, so we will be en route tomorrow night. The good news is that we will have a full Friday to knock around Asheville; the bad news it that I will not be able to watch the Auburn game!!! You can ask Meredith what happens when I don't get to watch the game (something to do with the South Florida game last year and Meredith's 10-year reunion; I still feel bad about that one). I WILL be hooking up my Sirius radio in her car, so we will be able to listen. Aahhhh, relief. How can they play well without me listening/watching? I can't wait to be back up on the mountains...it is one of my all-time favorite places. Hopefully, we will have tons of pictures to post, and everybody say a prayer for us that MA sleeps during the drive and we don't have to stop every 100 yards!! Beautiful Smile

I have to let you see this video of her beautiful smile! You can go down and pause the music on lthe left side of the blog to hear the sound better. Hays is doing some baby talk that he is embarassed of, but it is so worth it to see the video. This all went down while he was trying to capture the "cross-eyed look" that MA does when she is trying to poop. This video may not be up for long though, so I hope you guys are reading pretty often!

Emily's vist!

Margaret Anne's best friend Emily came to visit her yesterday, for the first time since she was born. Emily is the daughter of my best friend Amanda. Emily was so funny and cute and we can't wait until they can play together!

Update!

Wow, this week has flown by! While I have made a lot of progress at work, I have let a lot of things slide, like housework and blogging! Margaret Anne had her 2 month checkup on Monday, and Hays and I were a little nervous because we knew she would also be getting her vaccinations. She weighed 9 lbs, 15 oz, and is 23 inches long! The doctor was pleased with her weight gain and progress. She is only in the 25th percentile for weight and the 50th for length, but he said that was good because that is also where she was when she was born. He also said that breastfed babies generally tend to be a little smaller than formula fed babies.
After he looked her over and said she was doing great, the nurse came in to give her the shots. I didn't want anything to do with it, so Hays had to hold her still. The nurse gave her two shots in each leg, and she did it really fast, but MA still didn't like it at all! I grabbed her up as soon as the nurse was done, and she stopped crying pretty quickly. I was afraid that she would have a fever or a reaction to the shots, but we gave her some baby Tylenol before and after and she seemed to feel fine! Thank goodness.
She smiles so much these days, and it is probably my favorite thing in the world. Every day at work I miss her so much, and I just can't wait to get my hands on her in the afternoon. I just can't get over what a good, sweet baby she is.
Next weekend we are going to Asheville, NC for my friend Jessica's wedding, and we are taking Margaret Anne. I am sure there will be lots of pictures to post!

And life goes on...

Well, I never thought I would be able to get back in the swing of things, but here I am. It's amazing that it feels like I was away from work forever and also like I never left! It is nice to be back, but I do miss Margaret Anne all day long! I have been leaving as soon as I can after school every day to get her, which is not helping me get caught up AT ALL!! I can't help it though.
My dancers have been doing great, and they did really well at competition last Saturday! They were the highest scoring dance line of the day, and that makes me so proud of them because they did it all on their own. They are really smart talented girls and it is such a pleasure to be able to work with them!
Margaret Anne has begun smiling on occasion, and when she does it just melts my heart! She has also begun making these precious little cooing noises and I love to hear those too. She has been doing great at daycare, which definitely makes things easier. Unfortunately she has come down with a little cold, so this morning we had to suck her nose out with the bulb syringe. She did NOT like that. She screamed, and it made me so sad! But it did help her breathe better which was the goal. I guess while she is in daycare she will be sick more often for a while, but maybe less than most kids in daycare because there are only 5 other children where she is.
Hays and I are starting to adjust to me going back to work. He is just great in the mornings, VERY helpful! If I had to get up and do it all by myself I would have to wake up at 4:00 just to get it all done, but he gets up about an hour and a half earlier then he normally would and helps me get myself and MA ready. I honestly don't know what I would do without him. I don't know how women who do it all by themselves are able to get it done!
It's funny - I have only had Margaret Anne for 8 weeks (almost) and I can't really remember what life was like without her. I think it must have been a lot more boring.

Auburn Game? What Game?

Baby Times!

It has been a really long time since I've been motivated to blog, due mostly to the fact that work has been complete chaos (as a direct result of the US economic woes), and when I get home, it is baby time! I used to wonder how people with children managed to make it all happen (to clarify, how do they get ANYTHING done), but I am figuring out that you just kind of go on autopilot. Margaret Anne has been doing great, and has been sleeping like a champ at night. She has started sleeping for about 5-6 hours straight on occasion, which we definitely appreciate! She also started daycare this week with a sweet lady named Yvonne, who the kids call "Granvon". We definitely feel fortunate to have found her. She is only 5 minutes from Meredith's work, which makes it really convenient too. MA is getting where she can hold her head up on her own (with the occasional flop), and she likes to crack a smile in her bath! I'm not sure she knows what a smile means yet, but she is definitely happy at bathtime, especially when Mom shampoos her hair. I can't wait for her to start smiling back at us, but at the same time, I can't believe how fast she is growing. She has some seriously strong legs, because when I sit her up on my lap, she likes to push off and try to stand up! It has definitely been a blast watching her develop, and become more aware of her surroundings every day. Hopefuly this weekend we will take some pictures and post them up soon! I feel more motivated to blog now. I guess I had blogger's block!
