Halloween Part 2

Tonight we were able to go to Alyson's house. Her sister and I, Amanda, have been friends since elementary school. Amanda, Benji, and their daughter, Emily, live in another state and we rarely get to see them, so it was really fun to get our girls together on Halloween! Emily is 4 months older than Margaret Anne, and she is so smart! Alyson hosted a great little party, with some REALLY cute food! Here are some pics of the food:

The spread

Frankenstein Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball

Pumpkin Chicken-Ranch Ball

Ghost and Pumpkin Cookies

Spider Web Mexican Layered Dip

It all tasted as good as it looked, but at first I didn't want to eat it because it was so cute.

Now... on to the Trick or Treating! It was so fun to take Margaret Anne out to Trick or Treat. Sandi is in town and got to come with us!

Emily was Little Red Riding Hood

Margaret Anne was looking at Aunt Sandi

After a little while Margaret Anne didn't want to walk any more, so she rode in the wagon. Emily tried so hard to pull her!

Then Benji took over to pull MA. He looked very cool too. :) Every time he would stop walking, Margaret Anne would try to scoot the wagon forward and said "go, go!"

After the Trick or Treating, holding the loot and the glowie bracelets that she loved!

When we were done, Emily and Margaret Anne needed a bath, so they had a bath together for the first time. I think they enjoyed it!

Happy Halloween!

Halloween Part 1

Friday night we went to Elaine's house for a Halloween playdate with Charlie and Andrew. Margaret Anne and Charlie were both tigers (war eagle) and Andrew had the cutest little golfer costume. We tried to get their pictures all together but didn't have a lot of luck! Here's what we got:

We thought it was funny that MA's tiger costume made her backside look so big!
Happy Halloween!

The BEST Part

The best part of my job: working with my dance line! We do much more than just football halftime performances, but they work very hard during football season and this is their "feature," which is when they are featured during the halftime show.I hope you enjoy their performance. I was sitting on the 50 yard line so you kind of have to look around the drum major. Don't forget to pause our music on the sidebar so you can also hear the awesome Cougar Band!

A "Thrilling" Performance

Every year the teachers at my school try to do something special at a pep rally. I thought that since Homecoming was so close to Halloween, "Thriller" would be appropriate. I came up with the dance (with a little help from one of my dance captains and various youtube videos) and some of the faculty and I put this little performance together. We even painted our faces like zombies!!! I think the kids really liked it, and I know I had a great time with my fellow coworkers during the practices. I hope you guys like it too!

"Seeing" things in a new way...

Yesterday, a fellow teacher and I took our Honors Anatomy and Physiology classes to Atlanta to check out Bodies: the Exhibition and Dialog in the Dark. Both were really AWESOME exhibits, and I think the students really loved it. I loved it too.
Bodies: The Exhibition is exactly what it sounds like. Every system of the human body displayed. The specimens were REAL people preserved so that they don't decay, and they were very artfully presented. You can check it out here.

Dialog in the Dark may be one of the most interesting things that I've ever done. We were admitted in groups of 10 and given canes and taught how to use them. Then we were admitted to rooms with light boxes that you sit on while a nice lady spoke to us. As she talked, the lights started to dim... then went totally black. We then met our guide, Rory, who guided us through (in complete blackness) a park, a grocery store, crossing the street, getting on a boat, and going to a restaurant. It was difficult at first, but then you get a lot more comfortable and adjusted. It was an experience I won't forget, and I don't think the students will either. Speaking of my students, don't they look like a great bunch? I am very lucky that I get to see them every day!

BIG weekend!

Margaret Anne started walking this weekend, so I tried to take a video last night to show everyone. Yay Margaret Anne! I have a feeling my life is about to change drastically....

It's a little dark, but it is the best I could do. Make sure you go down and pause the music before you play the video!

I hope you guys enjoy!

She falls at the end and I thought she might get up... but the grippies on the bottom of her feet aren't so grippy anymore.

Trying something new!

Hey all! I have listed some baby wreaths in an Etsy shop. There is a link on my sidebar, along with my email if you all would like to buy one of my baby wreaths! These are GREAT shower gifts! I was dying to have one of these when Margaret Anne was born, so I decided to learn to make them myself. Please check them out and if you order one online and say you found it from my blog, I will give you a 10% discount! Just let me know under "notes to the seller" that you saw it here first!
I will also be listing some hairbows in the next few days. When you see those listings you can also let me know you saw them here to get a 10% discount. Stay tuned!

Champions of Hope 2009

Before I show pictures from this year's race, I just want to say how proud I am of Sandi for what she started last year. This year's race was great and raised a lot of money for women in the Wiregrass region to get great care for breast cancer. Sandi is a true "Champion of Hope!"

We all got AWESOME glitter tattoos, even Margaret Anne!

Someone fell asleep around mile 2!

Sandi has some incredible friends! These two girls, Chris and Kara, came all the way from Indianapolis and were a BLAST!

Margaret Anne did a little back up dancing for Wesley Cook!

Sandi, last year's chairperson, crowning this year's chairperson, Kelli Cundith.
SO many inspiring women!
