Margaret Anne had her 1 year check up last week. She weighed in at a whopping 19 lbs (25th percentile) and was 30 1/4 inches long (90th percentile). Her head circumference was also in the 90th percentile. Her pediatrician said she is doing great because she has stayed on the same growth curves since she was born. She got her vaccines (along with flu and chicken pox this time) and was a pretty good girl about it, only crying for a second. That is, until the nurse came back in to reinforce her band aids (they weren't sticking well) with bigger band aids and I think MA thought she was getting more shots... she kept pushing the nurse's hand away. Poor baby!
She is totally off of bottles and baby food, and I honestly don't think she even noticed the transition. She LOVES whole milk (as you can see in the video from the previous post) and will drink out of any type of sippy cup. That is a good thing because when I was introducing her to the sippy she wouldn't take any of them and I think I bought every kind of cup ever made. She loves to eat and will eat pretty much anything, but she has a major preference for chicken fingers and cookies. I asked the DR about the cookies and he said they are ok as long as she is eating her other food, and she is. She laps up green beans and diced carrots, too!
She has this new thing with putting her food pieces on her head and when she does it she just laughs... she has to get a bath every night after dinner because her hair is usually crusted with food. YUM.
She is still sitting backwards in the car seat... even though she did get a new big girl car seat for her birthday (thanks Nonna and Grampa)! We just installed it rear facing. The doctor said to keep her rear facing because it is safest and she really doesn't know any different, and is pretty happy in the car.
There you have it, MA's big girl stats. I don't know about you guys, but I am floored by the changes made in just a year. She is growing up too fast!
